This year challenge of my Robotics Course (Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering) was to 3D-print a robotic hand and automate its behavior using common electronics (here an Arduino board and servo motors).
The following videos show some aspects of the adopted designed (you can easily, starting or not from a template, design a working hand) and solution, along aspects of the software designed to control it. A few demonstrations are also included.
A third version of this hand, with lateral motion of the thumb, will be soon printed in aluminum to make a more interesting solution for industrial and biomedical applications. Hope you like it. Soon I’ll make all the files available, including drawings, electronics and software.
